NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A concrete-testing lab allegedly faked results for concrete used for the Second Avenue subway line, as well as the Lincoln Tunnel, the new Yankee Stadium, and a LaGuardia Airport control tower.

American Standard Testing and Consulting Lab’s president and five staffers, indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney for allegedly falsifying test results, pleaded not guilty.

The company is accused of pocketing millions, billing customers for tests that were never done.

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney held a news conference Saturday in which she addressed the safety of the subway line.

“I called the MTA. They told me that this concrete was used in only one site,” she told WCBS 880′s Alex Silverman.

According to Maloney, a second company inspected the concrete used at 96th Street “and found that it is safe. This is very important.”

She said the second round of testing found that the material actually exceeded the standard.

“We are moving forward, and we hope that we will have this opened.  We are determined to have this opened in 2016,” she said.
